It is the wind farm, but also the scenery!
May 19 this year is the 11th China Tourism Day. This year's tourism day is themed with "green development and a better life", aiming to call on all parts of the country to connect green resources, ecological resources, etc., and guide people to go outdoors to experience nature and a better life.
As a green energy, wind power is the need to promote energy transformation and cope with climate change in China, and is also one of the important safeguards to achieve the goal of non fossil energy accounting for the proportion of primary energy consumption. Its energy and environmental benefits are significant. In recent years, with the pursuit of ecological and natural environment and the increase of outdoor activities, wind power has become a beautiful landscape while bringing clean energy.
Wulong, Chongqing: Another Way to Open Rural Tourism
Wulong, located in the southeast of Chongqing, is a minority area in Chongqing. In recent years, through the implementation of tourism poverty alleviation, Wulong has successfully removed the label of a poor county, and the "poor countryside" has become a "fairyland on earth".
Summer resort, mountain climbing and camping, fruit picking... In recent years, the popular "windmill card" has become another way to open rural tourism, which also gives Wulong a tourist card for windmill sightseeing.
In 2009, the first batch wind farm of CSIC and the first wind farm in southwest China, Wulong Siyuanping Wind Farm, were completed. Between the towering mountains, 58 "CSIC built" wind turbines slowly turned, becoming a new mountain scenery!
"The temple terrace is the highest point in our town. When we were young, we only felt the wind blowing when we were playing in the mountains. We never thought that the wind could make our hometown so lively.". Wang Feiyan, a small town resident, sighed with emotion about the changes in his hometown in recent years.
On the popular local forums in Chongqing, the list of posts about the keywords "windmill" and "temple terrace" is dozens of pages long, and the number of reading of a single popular post is nearly 200000. The new landscape of mountains+windmills has become a necessary place for people to clock in. Every weekend, there is a long queue to see windmills before driving. Hotels, home stays and farmhouses are often hard to find.
Benefiting from the dividends brought by the "windmill economy", Wang Feiyan's cousin and his wife, who used to work abroad, returned to their hometown from the coastal electronics factory, and the couple set up a snack bar and farmhouse. The elderly and children at home do not have to stay, and they can also have good income. The whole family is happy to spend.
In order to further realize the goal of "enriching the people through tourism", Heshun Town, Wulong District has also held a windmill science popularization art festival since 2018, attracting people from all walks of life to visit the temple grounds.
Look far into the sea of clouds to find the city of windmills
It is only 2-4 hours' drive from the Temple Ping Wind Farm, and there are also two popular "wind power clocking places" - Wansheng Nantianmen Wind Farm and Shizhu Shiziping Wind Farm.
Located in Chayuan Village, Shilin Town, Wansheng Economic Development Zone, Wansheng South Tianmen Wind Farm is a high-altitude area at the junction of Chongqing and Guizhou, with an average altitude of more than 1300 meters, an average wind speed of 6 meters per second and a cool climate.
At the top of the verdant Nantianmen Gate, 16 wind turbines stood high in the sky. Blue sky, white clouds, green mountains, forests, windmills... depict a fairy tale world where people and nature live in harmony.
The 16 "flowers of wind power" transform wanton wind into electric energy and deliver it to all parts of the city. Nantianmen Wind Farm is the first mountain wind power project of China National Offshore Installation Corporation. Since its completion and operation in 2015, the cumulative power generation has reached hundreds of millions of kilowatt hours.
Shiziping Wind Farm is located about 36km southeast of Shizhu County. Its administrative division covers Shasha Town, Liutang Township and Xixin Township. The terrain is mountainous, with an altitude of 1450~1800m and an average wind speed of 6m/s. In 2013, it was fully grid connected for power generation.
Standing on the top of the mountain at an altitude of 1800 meters, 25 powerful wind turbines, like a spectacular barrier, divide the Qiyue Mountains into two parts, like a paradise. The Shiziping Wind Farm, which is deep in the sea of clouds, makes people admire it from the bottom of their hearts.
There is always a place for you in the "wind" scenery
In addition to Chongqing, CSIC operates more than 200 wind farms, including many scenic spots.
Wind energy is known as one of the most valuable green and environment-friendly new energy sources in the 21st century! Wind farms of CSIC are not only providing clean energy, but also driving the development of local tourism and producing considerable economic and social benefits. |
