Small wind power generation systems generally refer to wind power generation systems with a single unit capacity of less than 100 kw. China's small wind turbines are applied to the field of "wind power complementation" with a gross profit margin of about 40%, while when exported to the international market, the gross profit margin is basically 100%. While China's export of small wind turbines maintains a leading position in technology, they have a significant price advantage in foreign markets, accounting for about two-thirds of the price of local products in Europe and the United States, and are in a "unique" position in the world.
In the domestic market, due to the bottleneck faced by large wind power cannot be effectively resolved, small wind power is an effective supplement to large wind power. The small wind power industry has been included in the "12th Five Year Plan" for Renewable Energy (draft), and China's small wind power industry is expected to usher in timely policy rain, with huge development space.
Small wind power is an effective supplement to large wind power
In response to the trend of global warming, our government has announced the action goal of controlling greenhouse gas emissions: to achieve a 40-45% reduction in CO2 emissions per unit of gross domestic product (GDP) by 2020 compared to 2005.
In order to achieve the goal of reducing carbon emissions, the Chinese government explicitly proposed in the "Medium and Long Term Development Plan for Renewable Energy" that the consumption of renewable energy should reach 10% of the total energy consumption by 2010 and about 15% by 2020. In addition to nuclear power and hydropower, achieving these ambitious goals mainly depends on wind power. At present, due to the multiple problems faced by large wind power: bottlenecks in grid access, the problem of wind power consumption by large grids, the lack of large areas of land with good wind resources, and the impact of offshore and deep-sea wind power costs and technical barriers, the development of large wind power has been restricted to some extent. The grid connection (distributed) of small wind power generation is an effective supplement to large wind power generation.
Small Wind Power, Big Future
According to the proposed content of the "12th Five Year Plan" for Renewable Energy, the state encourages the use of renewable energy technologies such as small hydropower, wind power, and solar power generation in areas without electricity, promotes the use of small wind power and wind power complementary power generation systems, and solves the power supply problem recognized by 1 million households. The Plan requires local governments to propose a number of rural small-scale renewable energy demonstration projects in combination with the construction of green energy counties, so that the proportion of renewable energy utilization in the total domestic energy consumption is higher than 50%; In rural areas, it is necessary to popularize the use of renewable energy and establish a complete technical service system for renewable energy utilization. By 2015, 200 green energy demonstration counties will be established nationwide.
Referring to the development situation in foreign countries, it is estimated that the small wind power industry in China will have a cumulative installed capacity of 2955MW by 2020 based on a conservative growth rate. By 2020, the cumulative output of small wind turbines will account for 1.97% of large wind turbines. If encouraged by strong policies, China's small wind power industry can develop at a maximum annual growth rate of 55% (annual growth rate decreases by 5%).
By 2020, the installed capacity of small wind turbines will account for 6.69% of large wind turbines. The cumulative capacity of small wind turbines sold domestically is expected to reach 6590MW, accounting for 60% of the total, and the export capacity is expected to reach 4390MW. If 60-65% of the small wind turbines sold domestically are used for grid connection, the capacity of small grid connected wind turbines will reach 4000 MW, with an annual power generation capacity of 2600 kWh. The development of small wind power in China has unlimited prospects.
